In Reference 1, Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (Duke Energy) submitted an exemption request to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRG) for NAC MAGNASTOR Cask OFCTKN045 due to a noncompliance with the terms and conditions of the NAG MAGNASTOR Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 1031, Amendment 7, at the time of loading.

By letter dated January 7, 2020 (Reference 2), the NRC staff requested additional information from Duke Energy that is needed to determine compliance with 10 CFR 72.122(a) and (b ).
