Dear Ms. Chen:

By letter dated August 25, 2021 [1 ], the NRC staff sent Requests for Additional Information (Part

1) to support review of Amendment 7 for the HI-STORM FW Certificate of Compliance No. 1032.

Please note that the NRC staffs Structural RAis [2] were sent separately and will be addressed in a separate response letter.

Holtec's responses to the NRC staffRAis Part 1 are in the attachments to this letter. The responses to the RAis are provided in Attachment 1, with Attachment 2 being a non-proprietary copy. The changes to the proposed CoC Appendix A and Appendix Bas a result of the RAis are provided in Attachments 3 and 4. Changes to the FSAR as a result of the RSis are included in Attachments 5 and 6 for both proprietary and non-proprietary versions, respectively. Attachment 7 contains the revised licensing drawings supporting the RAI responses. Attachment 8 contains a supporting proprietary document for the changes made with regards to the RAI responses and the changes made to the licensing bases. Two other supporting proprietary documents will be submitted later this week.

Since some attachments to this letter contain Holtec proprietary information, an affidavit requesting this information be withheld in accordance with I0CFR2.390 is included as Attachment
