ACCEPTANCE REVIEW COMPLETED FOR TN AMERICAS LLC APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE NO. 1042, AMENDMENT NO. 1, TO NUHOMS EOS SYSTEM (DOCKET NO. 72-1042, CAC NO. 001028, EPID: L-2018-LLA-0043)

Dear Mr. Narayanan:

By letter dated February 15, 2018, as supplemented on June 14, 2018, and August 30, 2018, TN Americas LLC (TN) submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) an application for Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 1042, Amendment No. 1, to the NUHOMS EOS System, pursuant to the requirements of Part 72 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

The staff has reviewed TNs responses to NRCs request for supplemental information (RSI) and has determined the application, supplemented by the RSI responses, now contains sufficient technical information in scope and depth to begin a detailed technical review. This letter acknowledges acceptance of your application.

We have established a schedule for the review and estimated that the staff may need approximately 1600 hours0.0185 days <br />0.444 hours <br />0.00265 weeks <br />6.088e-4 months <br /> to complete its review. The schedule allows for the staff to complete its technical review and issue a request for additional information (RAI) in December 2018. If TN provides a sufficient response to the RAI by January 2019, and a second RAI is not needed, the CoC would be submitted to Rulemaking in May 2019. Rulemaking is estimated to take 6 months, and if there are no significant adverse comments received during the comment period, the CoC will become effective in November 2019. In general, no additional changes to the application should be submitted except for changes resulting from your response to an RAI.
