Pre-Submittal Cask Inspection - Details
- Pre-submittal Inspection performed at Big Rock Point on July 23, 2019
- The inspection consisted of three separate tasks.
- Video inspection of access area in annulus between cask and canister
- Visual inspection of cask exterior
- Visual inspection of cask storage pad
- Representative canister/cask selected by Entergy based on increased susceptibility for moisture intrusion and corrosion
- Heat loads at the time of loading were within 0.5kw of each other and all storage casks were placed in service within months of each other.
- Inspection found some minor observations however, storage cask, canister and associated pad all found without structural deficiencies
- Inspection noted all parts of storage cask, canister and storage pad continue to perform their design function
