SUBJECT:

IEMA-OHS review of Constellation License Amendment Requests for Zion Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2, to delete certain license conditions which impose specific requirements on the decommissioning trust agreement and the License Termination Plan.

By application dated March 7, 2025 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML25066A171), Constellation Energy Generation, LLC, requested to amend the Zion Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2. The amendments would revise the Zion licenses to delete license conditions related to decommissioning. Specifically, the proposed amendments would delete license conditions relating to the License Termination Plan and delete license conditions relating to the terms and conditions of decommissioning trust agreements, and, instead, conform to the 10 CFR 50.75(h) regulations.

IEMA-OHS appreciates the opportunity to comment on the proposed license amendments. The IEMA-OHS staff has reviewed the proposed license amendments. Based on the review by the IEMA-OHS staff, IEMA-OHS finds no basis for denial of amendments approval.
