HI-STORM 100 Amd. 18 - Second Round RAI Clarifications This information is needed to determine compliance with 10 CFR 72.236(f).

RAI 8-1 (public): Provide updates to all references to the Holtec Report No. HI-2200343-A Topical Report.

Based on the resubmission of the Holtec Report No. HI-2200343-A Topical Report (TR) entitled, Topical Report for Allowance of Heat Load Patterns in HI-STORM 100 and HI-STORM FW Systems, ADAMS Package No. ML23338A300, all references to the TR in the technical specifications (TS) should be updated. An example includes, but is not limited to, TS Table 3-1a, note 9.

This information is needed to determine compliance with 10 CFR 72.236(b).

Holtec and NRC discussion:

1) Confirm whether CoC needs to be revised. Note that the TR is not referenced in the CoC itself, but the TR is referenced in the appendices to the CoC.

NRC staff is separately requesting that Holtec provide a courtesy Word version of the CoC to the NRC PM (with the track changes going from 17 to 18). Question from NRC:

Did the initial submittal of the CoC for Amd. No. 18 include all changes from Amendment No.16, because the Amendment No. 16 review was occurring in parallel with Amendment No. 18? NRC staff requests that Holtec ensure the final CoC provided for Amd. No. 18 accurately incorporates all previously accepted changes for 16, 17 and includes track changes only for 18.

2) Holtec will provide a revised TS with appropriate citations to the revised TR (note that some sections of TS previously specified Revision 2 of the TR and the Revision # should be removed).

NRC staff is separately requesting that Holtec provide complete courtesy Word versions of the TS (i.e., all appendices to the CoC) to the NRC PM that accurately incorporates all previously accepted changes for Amendments 16 and 17 and only includes track changes for Amd. 18.

3) Confirmed with Holtec that UFSAR does not specify TR Revision #, and -A is consistently referenced throughout, so there are no further changes needed to the references to the TR in the UFSAR (unless further changes are needed to UFSAR for response to 2nd round RAI 4-2a).
