[External_Sender] RE: Revised RAI Response Date for Trojan ISFSI Renewal Application Importance: High

Chris, We appreciate the extended schedule for our responses, and I have one additional schedule request. Were currently resolving comments on our submittal with multiple parties including our Independent Safety Review Committee (ISRC) who must approve it before we submit. The ISRC th

provided numerous comments prior to and during our meeting with them on December 19 , and due to holiday schedules were finding it challenging to get them all resolved in a timely way. If possible we would appreciate a two week extension to January 30, 2019 to fully close the comments and ensure all changes are consistently documented between our RAI responses, LRA markups, SAR markups, and list of changes. Based on our current status I have high confidence that we will meet the extended date. Please let me know if this extension is acceptable so that we can plan accordingly.

Thank you for considering this request.

Revised RAI Response Date for Trojan ISFSI Renewal Application

      • Please take care when opening links, attachments or responding to this email as it originated outside of PGE.***

Good morning Mark, By letter dated March 23, 2017, Portland General Electric (PGE) submitted an application for renewal of the Trojan site-specific Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation license, SNM-2509. By letter dated April 23, 2018, (ML18113A338) the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requested additional information to continue its review of the application. That letter requested the additional information be provided by October 31, 2018. Per our discussion, I have agreed to extend the response date to January 16, 2019.

This email documents that discussion. Inform us at your earliest convenience, but no later than December 31, 2018, if you are not able to provide the information by that date. To assist us in rescheduling your review, you should include a new proposed submittal date and the reasons for the delay.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please let me know.

Thank you,

-Chris Docket No. 72-17 CAC/EPID No. 001028/L-2017-RNW-0011 Christopher T.
