Gentlemen:
Thank you for your letter of August 8,1986, in response to our letter and Notice of Violation dated July 10, 1986. We have reviewed your reply and your letter request, dated May 16, 1986, for a one time exemption to the 12-month requirement for the Security Program audit. We find your reply responsive to the concerns raised in our Notice of Violation.
Concerning your post ins'ection p request for a w'aiver of the requirements, we accept the May'29, 1985, audit of law enforcement support to emergency preparedness as having met a dual purpose. We also laud your enhancements to the security audit' program methodology However, it would nav'e been better to speed up the audit process to cover all of the security topics prior to entering the transition stage. The approach taken left a critical area, testing and maintenance, unaddressed. Therefore, the violation stands.
We will review the implementation of your corrective actions during a future inspection to determine that full compliance has been achieved and will be maintained. -
