Dear Mr. Bauer:

.)

SUBJECT:

PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION ANNUAL EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EXERCISE By letter dated October 3, 1984, the NRC staff granted a Philadelphia Electric Company (PECo) request for a exemption to the schedular requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix E, Section IV.F.3. This action permitted the 1984 annual axercise to be conducted during the month of October (October 17, 1984) rather than in June 1984 as previously scheduled. By letter dated June 5, 1983; PEco requested that a permanent change in the schedules of the annual emergency response exercise be permitted so that all future annual exercise, including the 1985 exercise, would be held during the month of October.

Since the 1985 Peach Bottom annual emergency exercise is scheduled for October 17, 1985 and, therefore, the schedular requirements of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix E.Section IV.F.2 and IV.F.3 would be met by this exercise, no schedular exemptions to these requirements are required.

If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact your Project Manager, (Gerry Gears at (301) 492-8362).

Sincerely,
