This letter transmits the findings of the Safety System Functional Inspection (SSFI) Corrective
Action Review Team conducted by Mr. J. J. Lyash and others from September 17 through
October 3,1990,.at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Delta, Pennsylvania. Mr. Lyash
discussed the results of this inspection with Mr. J. Franz and other members of your station and
-
engineering departments.
The team found that your corrective actions implemented in response to NRC SSFI Team
Inspection 90 200 were generally acceptable. The team also evaluated weaknesses noted in
several program areas during the SSFI In each of the areas reviewed clear progress has been
made during the last year. We encourage your continued efforts to strengthen these programs.
During this inspection, some additional weaknesses were noted by the team. These should
receive similar attention to ensure timely review and resolution.
No written response to this letter is required. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
