Dear Mr. Rainey:

This letter acknowledges telephone conversations between Mr. J. Williams and Messrs..P. Nielson and J. Lyter on May 12,1999 and May 14,1999. Your staff requested that Revision 8 of NUREG 1021, " Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors" be followed rather than interim revision 8 for the exams in September. This is acceptable to the NRC.

Mr. Williams and Mr. Lyter discussed the revision 8 requirements for the exam, including security and schedule changes.
