POWER STATION, UNITS.2 AND 3, DUAL LICENSING OF SR0'S LIMITED TO FUEL HANDLING (TAC NOS. 77096,.77097,77098,AND77099)

Your letter of June 18, 1990, informed us of your plans regarding the licensing..

of utility employees as Limited Senior Reactor Operators (LSR0s),' limited to fuel handling et both the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS) and the Limerick Generating Station (LGS). We have determined that SRO licenses ,.

limited to fuel handling may be issued to operators for work at both PBAPS and-LGS without the need for an exemption pursuant to 10 CFR 55.11. The issuance-of SRO licenses,-limited to fuel handling, for more than one facility will be '

subject to the following conditions:

(1) The LSR0s will only be-issued to utility employees; thus PEco will be-responsible for ensuring that the administrative requirements of 10.CFR 55 associated with maintaining a license are met; and (2) The candidates will be tested and evaluated on each separate facility and t will be subject to the requirements of 10 CFR 55 for each facility.

, Information regarding fuel handling-related procedures and systems will need to be furnished to our Region I staff so that the content and scope of the LSR0 examination can be developed for each site. '
