Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3, dated May 19,1998 This letter provides written confirmation that the Thermo-Lag 330-1 fire barrier corrective actions at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS), Units 2 and 3, have been completed. This letter also confirms completion of the actions required by the Confirmatory Order Modifying Licenses (Order) Nos. DPR-44 and DPR-56 for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3, dated May 19,1998. The Order confirms PECO Energy Company's commitment for each unit as follows:
PECO Energy Company shall complete final implementation of Thermo-Lag 330-1 fire barrier corrective actions at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3, described in the PECO Energy Company's submittals to the NRC dated April 18 and December 29,1993; February 4 and December 19,1994; i
March 29 and August 2,1995; May 2,1996; March 24,1997; and January 14,1998, prior to restart from 3R12 refueling outage of Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Unit 3, scheduled for October 1999.
In meeting our commitment the following actions have been completed:
Electrical modifications required to support the Fire Safe Shutdown Program were completed on September 24,1999.
Fire Barrier encapsulation installation was completed on October 3,1999.
Automatic suppression and detection systems went in service on October 10,1999.
Penetration installation / upgrades were completed on October 11,1999.
The transition to our revised Fire Safe Shutdown Program was implemented on October 12,1999.

~This completes the corrective actions for Generic Letter 92-08 "Thermo-Lag 330-1 Fire Barriers." Ampacity derating corrective actions are complete pending final NRC review of our Request for Additional Information (RAl) response dated March 12,1999. It is our understanding, based on a letter dated February 12,1999, from M. C. Thadani (USNRC) to G. D. Edwards (PECO), that the resolution of these ampacity derating issues are being tracked as separate actions.
