NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-424/88-53 Thank you for your response of June 29, 1989, to our Notice of Violation issued on May 31, 1989, concerning activities conducted at your Plant Vogtle facility under NRC License No. NPF-68.
In your response, you acknowledged the occurrence of violations relating to the protection of safeguards material and deportability of a safeguards event.
We have evaluated your response to these violations and found that they meet the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201.
We will examine the implementation of your corrective actions during future inspections.
In your response, however, you denied the violation concerning the failure to log a safeguards event.
After careful consideration of the basis for your denial, we have concluded, for the reasons presented-in the enclosure to this letter, that the violation occurred as stated in the Notice of Violation.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(d) and 10 CFR 73.21, safeguards activities and security measures are exempt from public disclosure.
Therefore, the enclosure to this letter will not be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
