EXEMPTION AND AUTHORIZATION FOR USE.0F SOLVENT IODINE CANISTERS AT V0GTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT, UNIT 2 (TAC 75169) l The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has granted the enclosed Exemption and l
authorized the use of solvent fodine canisters with a radiciodine protection factor of 50 at the Vogtle Electric Ger.erating Plant, Unit 2.
The Exemption and authorization was granted in response to your letter dated September 28, 1989(ELV-00902).
We find that granting the Exemption is authorized by law and will not result in undue hazard to life or property.
Also enclosed is a Safety Evaluation that supports the granting of the Exemption and authorization for the use of equipnent which has not been certified by NIOSH/MSHA.
The Exemption is ueing forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
