Your letter of July 11, 1989, (ELV-00634) responded to Generic Letter 89 08 for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP), Units 1 and 2.
Your response stated that:
1.
The Vogtle Unit 1 Erosion / Corrosion Program meets the intent of the NUMARC guidelines; however, a few areas were identified where program enhancements are appropriate in light of the GL 89-08 guidance.
You committed to incorporate these Unit 1 program revisions prior to the recent Unit I refueling outage (February-April 1990).
2.
AVogtleUnit2 Erosion /CorrosionProgram(equivalenttotheUnit1 program) will be developed prior to the first refueling outage for Unit 2(currentlySeptember 14,1990).
Your response and the stated actions adequately address GL 89 08 and provide a suf ficient basis for closure of NRR's review of this matter. Any further NRC review will be pursued through the inspection or sudit process.
