By a {{letter dated|date=July 30, 2021|text=letter dated July 30, 2021}} (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21211A603), Holtec International (Holtec), submitted an application in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 72 for an amendment to renewed Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 1014 for the HI-STORM 100 Cask System. Amendment No. 17 updates the description of the system in the CoC to indicate that only the portions of multi-purpose canister components that come into contact with the pool water need to be made of stainless steel or aluminum. Amendment No. 17 also includes minor editorial and formatting changes to the technical specifications. | |||
As stated in the Federal Register (88 FR 74019, October 30, 2023), the effective date of renewed CoC No. 1014, Amendment No. 17 is January 16, 2024. Attached are renewed CoC No. 1014, Amendment No. 17, and the corresponding technical specifications and final safety evaluation report. This amended certificate constitutes the approval and conditions for the use of the HI-STORM 100 Cask System for the storage of spent nuclear fuel under the general licensing provisions of 10 CFR 72.210. | |||
