SUMMARY

OF SEPTEMBER 28, 2023, MEETING WITH NAC INTERNATIONAL, INC. TO DISCUSS SUBMITTAL OF THE APPLICATION FOR MAGNASTOR AMENDMENTS 15 AND 16 On September 28, 2023, a partially closed meeting was held between representatives of NAC International, Inc. (NAC) and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to discuss submittal of applications for Amendments 15 and 16 for the MAGNASTOR cask system. The meeting was noticed on September 11, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML23254A332). The list of meeting attendees is provided in Enclosure 1. The non-proprietary presentation slides are in ADAMS under Accession No. ML23299A219.

Discussion The meeting discussion followed the meeting agenda, which is provided in Enclosure 2. NAC provided a high-level description of the purpose of Amendment 15 and clarified that the plan moving forward is to submit Amendment 16 as a supplement to Amendment 15 instead of its own amendment. NAC stated that it is requesting an effective date for this amendment of July 2025 to support ongoing operations at Arizona Public Services.

After NAC and the NRC representatives completed their discussion for the public portion of the meeting, the meeting was opened to public comments or questions, of which there were none.

Following the public portion of the meeting, the discussion continued but was closed to the public due to the discussion including proprietary changes being proposed in the amendment.
