This refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. G. C. Smith
of this office at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, Plymouth, Massachusetts
on December 9 - 11, 1986 of activities authorized by NRC License No. OPR-35 and
to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Smith with Mr. E. J. Ziemanski
of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Our inspector also verified the steps you had taken to correct the violation
brought to your attention in a letter dated December 31, 1985. We have no
further questions regarding your action at this time.
I Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure
