Dear Mr. Oberg:

I This letter is submitted in response to your September 28,1999 verbal request for infcniation.

The information requested was the qualifications and resume of Mr. Wend, the person  !

identified as the acting Radiation Protection Manager (RPM) in the referenced letter. The i referenced letter was submitted to notify the Office of Nuclear Materials Safety that the person l named identified in Condition 11 of the Materials License is no longer employed at PiMrim  !

Station.

Mr. Wend's resume is enclosed and contains his qualifications. The enclosed resume is requested to be treated confidentially in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a)(B) because it contains personal information. Relative to the Materials License Condition 11, Mr. Wend .

would serve as the Radiation Safety Officer and licensed material would be used by, or under i the supervision of, Mr. Wend. Mr. Wend meets the qualifications descrihni in ANSI N18.1 - } y,_

1971 and Regulatory Guide 1.8 (September 1975) as specified in Technical Specification 5.3.1.

The process for selection of the permanent Radiation Protection Manager is on-going, and is ,

expected to be completed within the next two weeks. A request for an amendment to the Materials License will be submitted after the selection process is completed.
