This letter constitutes formal notification that the closing date for the sale and transfer of Pilgrim Station is scheduled to occur on July 13,1999. Mr. Alan Wang of your staff will be verbally notified of the time of sale closing.
By Reference 1, Boston Edison Company (Boston Edison) and Entergy Nuclear Generation Company (Entergy Nuclear) requested transfer of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station Facility Operating License DPR-35 and NRC Materials License 20-07626-04 from Boston Edison to Entergy Nuclear. Boston Edison and Entergy Nuclear also requested conforming license amendments be issued to become effective upon the sale closing.
By Order dated April 29,1999 (Reference 2), the NRC approved the transfer of the facility operating license and the materials license, and license amendments conforming to the transfer.
I Condition 7 of the Order specified that after the receipt of all required regulatory approvals, the Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, shall be notified in writing of the date of the sale and transfer of Pilgrim. All required regulatory approvals have been received since the Order was issued Therefore, this letter is submitted in accordance with Condition 7 of the Order.
D Condition 6 of the Order specified that prior to the sale and transfer of Pilgrim Station, Entergy Nuclear shall provide satisfactory evidence that Entergy Nuclear has obtained the appropriate amount of insurance required by 10 CFR Part 140. Satisfactory evidence that Entergy Nuclear has obtained the appropriate amount of insurance will be submitted in a separate letter prior to the sale closing.
