This refers: to the corporate management meeting held at this office on

September 20, 1978, and attended by Messrs. Howard, Sides, McGuire, Machon

and yourself of the Boston Edison Company, and by Messrs. Grier, Allan,

> McCabe and myself and other members of this office.

The subjects discussed during this meeting are included in the Office of-

Inspection and Enforcement Report which is enclosed with this letter.

It is our view that this meeting was effective in. improving your under-

standing of the Region I inspection program, as it impacts upon the  !

Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1, and our understanding of your

plans for the operation of that plant.

In accordance with Section 2.790 'of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part '

2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the

enclosed report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.

No response to this letter is required; however, should you'have any

questions concerning this meeting, we will be pleased to discuss them

with you.
