Your May 24, 1985 letter requested our attention to the distribution of NRC correspondence which transmits Safeguards Information to the Boston Edison Company (BECo) .

Consistent with the controls established by BECo to ensure protection of Safeguards Information upon receipt as identified in your request, NRC correspondence which transmits Safeguards Information will be dispatched as follows:

. The addressee will receive only the transmittal letter which will state "w/o Enclosure (Contains Safeguards Information)"

. A copy of the transmittal letter will be forwarded to BECo's Sr.

Regulatory Affairs and Programs Engineer (E. R. MacCormack) with the original of any Enclosure which contains Safeguards Information).

We will also advise NRC Headquarters offices of your request and regret any inconvenience our misdirected correspondence may have caused.
