REACTOR , TRIP SYSTEM RELIABILITY ON-LINE TESTING, GENERIC LETTER 83-28 We have completed our review of your submittal dated November 4, 1983, concerning Item 4.5.2 of Generic ~ Letter 83-28 relating to the reliability of the on-line testing of the reactor trip system. The staff concludes that the design of the Fort St. Vrain reactor trip system,which uses four independent i contactors rather than reactor trip breakers,can be tested at power (when the facility receives authorization for operation) and, therefore, meets the requirements of Generic Letter 83-28. The staff's Safety Evaluation is enclosed.
