FINANCIAL ASSURANCE MECHANISM FOR FORT ST. VRAIN DECOMMISSIONING COSTS
Dear Mr. Fuller:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff has reviewed the Public Service s_
Company of Colorado's (PSC) March 5,-1997, submittal (P-97018) entitled,
" Financial ' Assurance Mechanism for Fort St. Vrain Decommissioning Costs."
Based on the fact that the Wells Fargo Bank of, Colorado, current holder of the
$8.5 million Trust Agreement, is currently being purchased by the Bank of New York, resulting in the administration of trust accounts being in transition, we have approved the PSC request for an additional 45 days to remedy the identified deficiencies identified in our February 14, 1997, letter.
