Dr. J. B. Nicholas of this office during the period June 11-15,-1990, of

' activities authorized by NRC Operating License DPR-34 for Fort St. Vrain

Nuclear Generating Station, and to the discussion of our findings with you.and

other members of your staff at the conclusion of. the. inspection on June 15,

1990.

Areas examined during' the inspection included the radioactive material

transportation program, liquid and gaseous radioactive waste management

programs' includin'g radiological ef fluent releases,, water chemistry and

radiochemistry programs including water chemistry and radiochemistry

-

confirmatory measurements, and the radiological environmental monitoring .

program. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination

of-procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and

observations by the inspectors.

The inspection findings are documented in the
