Commonwealth Edison Company notified your office on November 29,'1979 of the failure of two (2) field anchorheads for the horizontal tendons used to post-tension the concrete (primary) containment on Byron Units 1 and 2.                        That notification was made under 10 CFR 50.55(e).                        Reference (a) contained an interim report concerning these failures. As indicated in the attached second interim report, additional failures have occurred necessitating further testing to resolve this deficiency. Final resolution is now scheduled for May 15, 1980. Therefore, Commonwealth Edison requests an extension to that time for submittal of the final report.
