Dear Mr. Wright:

l7 The 1990. Byron Station-NRC Requalification Exam was conducted May 29th through June.7th.- - The NRC preliminary results were given'to the station at the exit meeting held.on June 8th..The NRC identified one shift team failure, one. staff

. team failure, and one JPM failure.. Byron Station identified one staff team failure and one JPM failure.

Based'on these results, the station immediately removed / prohibited both teams and the JPM failure from' license duties. The shift team was placed in a remedia-tion program which ran June lith through June 14th..This program consisted of

.four days of simulator training with primary emphasis placed on diagnostic and-

-communication skillsi on the fifth day,'all individuals and the team were re-examined and subsequently passed.

A11; individuals of the staff-team presently hold positions which.do not include-T

-norsrequire.any license duties. Therefore, the staff team will not be remediated-

..in the near' future. This team will be prohibited from performing license duties

-as substantially the same crew until they have successfully completed a remediation program.

'The JPM failure will be placed in a remediation program during the week of l 1 1 July 9th'. 'This program will focus on JPM Exam Taking Techniques and practice j

JPM's and will' conclude with a JPM re-examination on July lith. This individual' will be. prohibited from performing license dut.ies until he successfully completes
