(DEK) FACILITY: Kewaunee Power Station (KPS) SUBJECT: SUMMARY OF THE APRIL 24, 2013, PUBLIC MEETING IN CITY OF KEWAUNEE TO MAKE POST-SHUTDOWN DECOMMISSIONING ACTIVITIES REPORT (PSDAR) AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT (TAC NO. MF1045) On April24, 2013, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a Category 3 public meeting at the Kewaunee City Council Chambers. The purpose of the meeting was to describe the Kewaunee Power Station (KPS) PSDAR document (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML 13063A248) to the local residents and solicit their comments. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. CT and ended at 8:45p.m. CT. A list of attendees (either by attendance or on conference call) is located in ADAMS Accession No. ML 13170A402. I The meeting consisted a series of presentations (handout copies attached) by the NRC staff: |
| | * Kenneth O'Brien introduced the meeting, provided a timeline of near-term decommissioning events and introduced the NRC staff providing presentations. |
| | * Karl Feintuch provided an overview of the KPS PSDAR and solicited comments from members of the public. * |
| | * Robert Krsek discussed the forthcoming decommissioning inspection program applicable to KPS. |
| | * Sarah Lopas, the NRC's meeting facilitator, described the ground rules for communicating comments in person and by phone. A written transcript of the meeting can be found at ADAMS Accession No. ML 13168A558. An index of comments from the public and responses from NRC staff during the meeting were compiled (ADAMS Accession No. ML 13170A521). Members of the public were in attendance and participated by teleconference. Comments from the public were received prior to and after the April 24, 2013, meeting and are being compiled .,separately. Public meeting feedback forms were received, one of which contained a comment. This comment will be forwarded to the cognizant Technical Assistants in the NRC's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. |

(DEK) FACILITY: Kewaunee Power Station (KPS) SUBJECT: SUMMARY OF THE APRIL 24, 2013, PUBLIC MEETING IN CITY OF KEWAUNEE TO MAKE POST-SHUTDOWN DECOMMISSIONING ACTIVITIES REPORT (PSDAR) AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT (TAC NO. MF1045) On April24, 2013, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a Category 3 public meeting at the Kewaunee City Council Chambers. The purpose of the meeting was to describe the Kewaunee Power Station (KPS) PSDAR document (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML 13063A248) to the local residents and solicit their comments. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. CT and ended at 8:45p.m. CT. A list of attendees (either by attendance or on conference call) is located in ADAMS Accession No. ML 13170A402. I The meeting consisted a series of presentations (handout copies attached) by the NRC staff:
- Kenneth O'Brien introduced the meeting, provided a timeline of near-term decommissioning events and introduced the NRC staff providing presentations.
- Karl Feintuch provided an overview of the KPS PSDAR and solicited comments from members of the public. *
- Robert Krsek discussed the forthcoming decommissioning inspection program applicable to KPS.
- Sarah Lopas, the NRC's meeting facilitator, described the ground rules for communicating comments in person and by phone. A written transcript of the meeting can be found at ADAMS Accession No. ML 13168A558. An index of comments from the public and responses from NRC staff during the meeting were compiled (ADAMS Accession No. ML 13170A521). Members of the public were in attendance and participated by teleconference. Comments from the public were received prior to and after the April 24, 2013, meeting and are being compiled .,separately. Public meeting feedback forms were received, one of which contained a comment. This comment will be forwarded to the cognizant Technical Assistants in the NRC's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.
