KEWAUNEE POWER STATION CERTIFICATION OF PERMANENT CESSATION OF POWER OPERATIONS Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(a)(1)(i), Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc. (DEK) hereby certifies to the NRC that it has decided to permanently cease power operation of Kewaunee Power Station (KPS).
Pending a grid reliability review by the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator, Inc. (MISO), DEK expects to cease power operation of KPS in the second quarter of 2013.
A specific date for permanent cessation of operations has not yet been determined. After MISO has completed a grid reliability review, DEK will submit a supplement to this letter specifying the specific date that KPS will cease power operations. The MISO review is expected to be completed within six months.
