MNGP is owned by Xcel Energy, the licensee and applicant, and operated by Northern States Power Company.
The MNGP plant site is located within the city limits Monticello, Minnesota, on the southern bank of Mississippi River.
The property (approx. 2000 acres) straddles the river and is located in Wright and Sherburne Counties, MN.
The MNGP EAB falls within the site boundary.

Threatened and Endangered Species Three Federally listed threatened, endangered or candidate species are listed within Sherburne and Wright Counties.
