OF OCTOBER 2, 2020, MEETING WITH NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY, DOING BUSINESS AS XCEL ENERGY, ON POTENTIAL AMENDMENT TO REVISE THE SAFETY LIMIT MINIMUM CRITICAL POWER RATIO FOR MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT (EPID: L-2020-LRM-0086)
On October 2, 2020, a Category 1 public teleconference was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of Northern States Power Company, a Minnesota Corporation, doing business as Xcel Energy (Xcel Energy). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a potential amendment to adopt to Technical Specifications Task Force (TSTF) Traveler TSTF-564, Safety Limit MCPR [Minimum Critical Power Ratio], to revise the safety limit MCPR related technical specifications for Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant (Monticello). The meeting notice and agenda, dated September 21, 2020, are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML20265A323. A list of attendees is provided as Enclosure 1.
The licensee presented information (ADAMS Accession No. ML20273A310) related to the potential amendment request. The licensee presented an overview of the planned application.
Members of the public were not in attendance. No regulatory decisions were made during the meeting.
