OF THE MAY 07, 2024, PUBLIC OUTREACH TO DISCUSS THE NRC 2023 END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT

On May 07, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (CDT), an information meeting with a question-and-answer session was held by representatives of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to provide the public with information on the 2023 End-of-Cycle plant performance assessment of the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, and with general information on the NRC. The hybrid meeting was held at the Monticello Community Center in Monticello, MN and was accessible online. The NRC representatives discussed plant performance with members of the public and a few state employees. Representatives from Xcel Energy were also present at the event.

The NRC discussed their assessment of Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant performance during the public outreach. The assessment information was documented in the February 28, 2024, End-of-Cycle Assessment Letter (ADAMS Accession Number ML24059A035). At the end of the presentation, members of the public were given the opportunity to ask questions of NRC staff.
