Dear Mr. Denton:

This letter provides the revised preservice/ inservice testing program plans for pumps and valves on Byron 1. NPC review of these program plans and approval of the relief requests is necessary before the plant enters Mode 4 in i approximately three weeks.

The enclosed program plans for the testing of pumps and valves supersede the plans provided previously in reference (a). They include changes which address some of the tRC comments and questions that were sent to 4

Commonwealth Edison in reference (b). We are available to discuss all of those comments and questions at the convenience of the NRC Staff.

l The enclosed puep and valve testing program plans are being included in Byron Station's first 10 year ISI program. They are Sections 3 and 4, respectively, in that program. The other sections will all be provided by t April 30, 1985. The overall organization of the 10-year program is shown in l Attachment A to this letter.

l One signed original and fifteen copies of this letter, the attachment, and the enclosures are provided for NRC review. Please address l
