, , Chang 2 Notico 001 QI-048 Rev. 1 LO ITEM CHANGE TO QUALITY INSTRUCTION 1.- Pages 5'and 6, Attribute 2, " Base Material Traceability", is changed to read:

Page 5, 3rd and 5th bullets:

4 That the base materials size (see Note 3), material specification, grade and ASME Code Class listed on the isometric drawing, the CMTR and/or C of C, and the MRS bill of materials, when available, are the same. The ASME code class need not be listed on the MRS. For Incore Detector couplings and nozzles, verification of the above (when not required by j the isometric drawing) may be achieved by certification to the

requirements of Westinkhouse drawings (i.e., dwg # 501B510, for couplings) to the C of C.

effective at the time of the inspection, or the inspectors

! certification records as follows:

i For Incore Detector tubing, the Inspector's area or

, category of certification is, as a minimum, ASME QC Level II, for Mechanical Installation Fabrication i Inspection (MIFI), Visual Welding Inspection (VT), or the appropriate NDE as applicable.

i For tubing other than the Incore Detector tubing, the l Inspector's area or category of certification is, as a

minimum, ASME QC Level II, prior to February 11, 1982, or NON-ASME QC Level II on or after February 11, 1982, 1

for MIFI/ Instrumentation and Control Inspection (I&C),

Verify that the Inspector's date of certification was prior to the date of the inspections performed, and inspections were performed prior to certification expiration date.

Note If this attribute is rejected, determine if the person that signed as a QC Inspector was ever certified in the appropriate area or category.

If the inspector was certified, record the timo period of certification. Otherwise, state that the person was never certified.

8.0 Pressure Test (Hydrostatic / Pneumatic)

For the tubing where the sample weld is located, verify by review the following:

That a hydrostatic (or pneumatic) pressure test i

was performed and that the Pressure Test Data Sheet (for the latest pressure test performed on the sample weld) has been signed and dated by a QC Inspector as acceptable. These documents are in the Pressure Test Data Package.

That the pressure test was performed after any weld repairs which may have been identified in the weld data package.

Note 1: For Unit I and Common Systems:

If a pressure test has not been performed, contact the population Os engineer to determine if it was exempt from a pressure test before rejecting this Attribute. If exempt from pressure testing mark "N/A" (Verification column) and " Exempt j from pressure test" (Remarks column) on the checklist.

Note 2: For Unit 2 Systems:

If a pressure test has not been

performed at this time, this attribute shall be marked "N/A" (Verification column) and " Test not performed yet" (Remarks column) on the checklist.

I Note 3: Test Boundaries are shown on system flow diagrams and drawings which are provided in the Pressure Test Data Package.

This attribute can be verified by utilizing the following steps:

  • From the DWG identify the associated instrument equipment number for the tubing containing the sample weld. Also identify any component identifications ne#k*the weld.

Obtain the Pressure Test Data Package number by (Cont'd) cross-referencing this information (instrument equipment number, and/or component identification numbers) on the Startup Hydro Group's Startup Hydro Test Log, or the Plant Information Management System PIMS Hydro Report computer listing (sorted by component number).

The Startup Hydro Report, Test Log, and PIMS Hydro Report document all pressure tests which have been performed. If there is no Pressure Test Data Package identified on these reports for the DWG information associated with the weld, it can be assumed that no pressure test has been performed.

Obtain the Pressure Test Data Package from the B&R PPRV, TUCCO PPRV, or the B&R IRV.

4. Add attribute 8, " Pressure Test (Hydrostatic / Pneumatic)" to the checklist, attached.
