CPSES - TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS MANUAL REVISION - 24 i

DETAILED DESCRIPTION l

l Prefix Page Page 1 (as amended)

GrouD DescrIDtion 2-9 2

Adds main steam block valves (MS 0101 and MS-0128) to Table 2.1.1,

" Containment Isolation Valves".

l Addition l

The Main Steam valves HV-2452-1 and HV-2452-2, supply steam from l

Steam Generators I and 4 to the Auxiliary Feedwater Pump Turbine. These l

valves utilize safety related air accumulators to maintain the valves closed during off-normal plant conditions. Afler exhausting the air accumulators, a secondary method of ensuring Containment Isolation is required. The upstream block valves (MS-0101 and MS-0128) fulfill this requirement..

The air accumulators supply safety related air to the air-operated valves upon loss of the non-safety related plant instrument air system. However, by design, the air accumulators only provide sufficient air to close the valves l

and keep them closed for 7 hours8.101852e-5 days
0.00194 hours
1.157407e-5 weeks
2.6635e-6 months
with an additional half hour a!!ocated for manual operator action. The block valves upstream of HV-24521,-2 are ASME Safety Class 2 gate valves with manual gear operators and have been qualified to function as secondary outside Containment isolation for j

pene ations MI-0001 and MI-0004.

The FSAR (LDCR-SA-96-131) and Inservice Testing Plan (LDCR-IT-97-006) are also being revised to be consistent with this change.

Clarify wording for containment spray pump testing.

I Clarification The new wording is more consistent with the Technical Specification as revised by Amendment 37/23 (and staff Safety Evaluation) and the actual way the testing is performed. Each pump is individually tested at >3300 gpm and >245 psid then the two flows are summed.
