Gentlemen:
This transmits the August 1-31, 1989 inspection findings by Messrs. C. Holden and R. Freudenberger at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Plant. Those findings have been discussed with Dr. Boulette and Mr. R. Blackmore of your staf This inspection identified instances where additional management or supervisory attention is needed. Examp es included overfilling the spent resin storage tank and troubleshooting which resulted in a dropped Control Element Assembl In addition, radiological controls implemented for the low pressure safety in-jection pump overhaul indicate a need for further supervisory attention to pre-vent the spread of contamination outside of work boundarie Thank you for your cooperation in these matter
