The attached Safety Evaluation Report for the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Station has been prepared as a result of joint reviews by the staff and its consultants, EG&G Idaho, of plant-specific submittals on the mechanical response
- of the primary coolant system, subject to. asymmetric loss-of-coolant accident-I loads.. The reviews.includsd an evaluation of plant specific cavity pressure, q
subcooled blowdown, and structural analyses. The staff has concluded that your j
assessment of the asymmetric loads problem is. acceptable, and a reasonable 1
assurance has been demonstrated that the reactor can be brought to a cold shutdown condition.
