Subject: Resident Inspection 50-309/89-13 (6/22/89-7/31/89)

This transmits the June 22 to July 31, 1989 inspection findings of Messrs,

C. Holden and R. Freudenberger at the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Plant. Those

findings have been discussed with Dr. Boulette of your staff.

During this inspection, well developed controls were identified in the power

upgrade progr&m and Demineralized Water Storage Tank repair. Inconsistencies

were identified in the implementation of radioactively hot particle controls.
