SUBJECT: REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM EVALUATION REPORT'NO. 50-334/90-14(0L-RQ)

From July 9-19, 1990, the NRC administered requalification examinations to

. employees of your company who operate the Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit 1.  ;

The evaluation was conducted in accordance with Revision 5 to NUREG-1021, l

Operator Licensing Examiner Standards, ES-601, " Administration of NRC Requali-

'

- fication Program Evaluations." The evaluation .has two purpses:'(1) to evalu- I

ate individual operator competency; and, (2) to evaluate the effectiveness of l

the licensed operator requalification training program at Beaver Valley Unit.1. l

Generic findings and preliminary results were discussed during the interim and i

at.the conclusion of the two week examination period with members of your staff j

identified in the enclosed report.  !

! As a result of this evaluation, your' requalification program has been assigned )

L an overall- rating of " satisfactory." The NRC results indicate nine Senior

l. Reactor Operators, and seven Reactor Operators' passed all p6rtions of the .

requalification examination. There was one crew failure. Section 3.0 of the

L attached report contains the details of the program evaluation. -!
