Dear Mr. Gallo:

The purpose of this letter is to provide the results of Duquesne' l

i Light Company's evi.luation of the Licensed Operator Requalification Examination conducted at Unit I the weeks of July 9 and July 16, 1990.

A summary of the examination results is provided along with individual results for each operator examined. These examination results indicate that the Beaver Valley Licensed Operator'Requalification Program is t

satisfactory overall and that;some operator retraining is needed in a-defined areas.

We have taken necessary corrective-actions based on the examination

-results.

The crew that failed to meet their expected performance icvel has been successfully upgraded and re-evaluated t.o be satisfactory.

In addition', a list of areas needing general training erephasis is attached, and is being used to enhance the operator retraining program.

j In'our view,- the revised examination process continues to work well. The NRC Examination Team interacted effectively with Beaver Valley personnel to administer the examination.
