By letter dated September 7,1990, Duquesne Light Company (DLC) requested ,

i approval,pursuantto10CFR50.55a(g)(3),fortheuseof.steamgeneratortube-plugs fabricated of nickel-chromium-iron UNS:N-06690 material-(Alloy 690) at the Beaver Valley Power Station, Units-1 and 2. The: alloy would be used for ~  ;

both mechanical and welded applications in accordance with the requirements of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code as an alternativeuto-A11oy 600; YourrequestreferencedCodeCaseN-474-1-(ApprovedMarch5,1990)ofth'eASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. This code case addresses' Alloy 690.and-- 1 authorizes its use in Other forms for the construction-of Section III,- 1 Division 1,. Class 1 components. A11oy 690 is specified in ASME Section II,-

material specifications SB-163, SB-167, SB-168,' and SB-166. JA11oy 690 in  !
