INSERVICE INSPECTION RELIEF REQUESTS NO. I-00008 AND NO I RE:

Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS), Unit 1 By letter dated July 14, 1986, Mississippi Power and Light Company (MP&L) submitted No. I-00008. a request to revise the previously submitted Relief Request Relief Request No. I-00008, which requested relief from the ASME Code Section XI requirements for inservice inspection of control rod drive and in-core July 22, housing 1986. welds and flange bolting, was approved by staff's letter dated The revision was requested to correct the description of testing of welds and bolting provided in the licensee's basis for requesting relief.

the ASME Code which is the applicable code for the GGNS inservice Relief Request No. I-00013 requests approval of the use of a portion portion of theEdition in the 1977 1983ofEdition of the ASME Code instead of the corresponding the Code.

The NRC staff has completed its review of your submittals and has concluded that revised Relief Request No. I-00003 and Relief Request No. I-00013 are appropriate.
