REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING RESPONSE TO GENERIC-LETTER 88 GRAND GULF NUCLEAR STATION (GGNS), UNIT 1 (TAC'N0. 71497)

'By letters dated January 9, and February 28, 1989, System Energy Resources, Inc., provided the results of the analyses of reactor vessel pressure and temperature' limits based on the methods. described in Revision 2 of Regulatory Guide 1.99. These analyses were. requested in Generic Letter 88-11. The NRC staff is reviewing these analyses and finds that the following additional information is.needed to complete its review:

(1) The reactor vessel beltline radius and thickness, (2) (RT)ndt values for the reactor vessel flange materials, and (3) Upper shelf energy values for the reactor vessel weld materials In order to support our review schedule, you are requested to respond to the enclosed request by' 0ctober 15, 1989. This request was discussed with your representatives on September 12, 1989.

The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements of this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
