SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-416/99-15
Dear Mr. Eaton:
This refers to the inspection conducted on August 16-20,1999, at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station
facility. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection included portions of your physical security and access
authorization programs. In general, we determined that these programs were properly
implemented. Based on the results of this inspection, the NRC has determined that one Severity
Level IV violation of NRC requirements occurred relating to the vehicle barrier system. The
violation is being treated as a noncited violation (NCV), consistent with Appendix C of the
Enforcement Policy. The NCV is described in the subject inspection report, if you contest the
violation or severity level of the NCV, you should provide a response within 30 days of the date of
this inspection report, with the basis for your den:al, to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission,

Administrator, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Region IV,611 Ryan Plaza Drive,

Grand Gulf Nuclear Station facility.

10 CFR Part 73.21 and its disclosure to unauthorized individuals is prohibited by Section 147 of
the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended. Therefore, the material will Doj be placed in the
