I Reference (a) provided licensees with the option of complying with
- NUREG-0737, Item II.K.3.31, on a generic basis. Reference (b) transmitted the NRC's SER for Item II.K.3.30, which approved NOTRUMP and stated that a j plant specific analysis should be submitted within one year. Reference (c) transmitted WCAP 11145 to the NRC for review and approval.
WCAP 11145 contains the results of the Westinghouse Owners Group (WOG) generic Small Break Loss of Coolant (SBLOCA) study utilizing the NOTRUMP model discussed above. WCAP 11145 demonstrates that the previously performed SBLOCA analyses for Zion Station remain conservative. Thus, Commonwealth Edison Company is referencing WCAP 11145 to satisfy the requirements of NUREG-0737, Item II.K.3.31.

Denton July 8, 1986 Commonwealth Edison Company is also performing an internal review of WCAP 11145 in parallel with the NRC to verify the WOG's assertion that these generic studies fully bound the previous Zion WFLASH analyses. Pending the successful completion of these reviews, Commonwealth Edison will continue to utilize reference (c) as Zion Station's II.K.3.31 submittal.
