Subj ect : Docket No. 50-482: Response to Inspection Report

482/88-40

Gentlemen:

This letter provides Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation's (WCNOC) schedule

for correcting the emergency preparedness program exercise weaknesses 482/8840-

01, 02, and 03 which were documented in the reference.

Weakness 482/8840-01 concerning Dose Equivalent Iodine-131 information not being

provided to the shift supervisor has been corrected. This weakness was reviewed

and considered closed in the inspection conducted by Mr. Nemen M. Terc during

the period January 31 through February 2, 1989.

Weakness 482/8840-02 concerning the Radiological Release Information System will

be corrected by August 31, 1939.

Weakness 482/8840-03 concerning the guidance provided by the Technical Support

Center staf f to the control room operators on implementing procedure EMG ES-Il i

will be corrected by June 1, 1989. l
