This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. H. F. Bundy of this office

during the period June 26 through July 6,.1989, of activities authorized by NRC'

Operating License NPF-42. for the Wolf Creek Generating Station, and to the

discussion of our findings with Mr. J. A. Bailey and other members of your

staff at the conclusion of the ansite" inspection on June 30, 1989;

Areas examined during the inspection included your actions in response to

Generic Letter 88-17 to prevent and, if necessary, respond to loss of decey

heat removal. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective

examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with

personnel, and observations by the NRC inspector. The inspection findings are

documented in the enclosed inspection report.

Within the scope of the inspection, ro violations or deviations were

identified.

Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to

discuss them with you.
