Dear Mr. Maynard:
From November 15 to December 26,1998, a resident routine inspection was conducted at your
[
Wolf Creek Generating Station reactor facility. The enclosed report presents the scope and
results of that inspection.

During the 6-week period covered by this inspection, your conduct at Wolf Creek was generally
!
characterized by safety-conscious operations and sound maintenance activities. Most notable
was the operations and maintenance departments' response to an inoperable rod control
system.

in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its

enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
