SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-482/99-09
Dear Mr. Maynard:
This refers to the inspection conducted on August 30 through September 3,1999, at the Wolf
Creek Generating Station facility. The purpose of the inspection was to perform the routine
operational status inspection of the emergency preparedness program and to resolve questions
about the revised emergency plan. The enclosed report presents the results of this inspection.
It is our understanding that during the inspection exit meeting conducted on September 3,
1999, Wolf Creek management stated that Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation would
revise the station emergency plan to resolve the differences identified between the plan and 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix E, and would provide to the NRC a proposed date for completion of the
plan revision. Please confirm this regulatory commitment in writing within 30 days of the date of
this letter,
in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
